Przylebska appointed Constitutional Court acting head

Julia Przylebska has been appointed Constitutional Court (TK) acting president until a new head of the top court is elected, the President's Office announced on Tuesday.

"On Dec. 20 the president entrusted Julia Przylebska with the duties of the acting president of the Constitutional Court until a new TK head is elected," reads a statement published by the President's Office.

Przylebska received appropriate documents during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.

Professor Andrzej Rzeplinski, to date TK head, ended his nine-year term on Monday.

Przylebska was elected TK judge by the Sejm (lower house) and sworn in by the president in

December 2015.

Also on Tuesday, Michal Warcinski was sworn in by the president as a TK judge. Warcinski was elected a TK judge on Dec. 15 to replace Rzeplinski. (PAP)
