Enterprise development agency earmarks PLN 620 mln for innovation
The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) will spend PLN 620 million in total on 50 innovative business projects by small and medium-sized companies, offering grants of up to PLN 20 million, PARP announced on Friday.
PARP will co-finance projects that implement R&D work carried out or acquired by a business by launching production of new products or services.
The PARP initiative is part of Poland's Smart Growth Operational Programme financed mostly by EU money.
"The average value of PARP co-funding will amount to PLN 12.4 million," PARP President Patrycja Klarecka said.
PARP received 197 applications from which it has selected 50 projects, according to the agency's head.
The agency has divided the selected projects according to industries. Twelve of them focus on production of machines, devices and tools, eleven on construction and manufacturing of construction materials, 11 - production of paper, cardboard and plastics, 5 - chemical products, 3 - electric products, 2 - glass processing and 6 - other sectors.
On February 8, PARP will launch the first tender for electric mobility projects.
"Our goal is to ensure that as many components of electric buses and cars as possible are made in Polish small and medium-sized companies. (...) It is an element of a bigger governmental programme: the Plan for the Development of Electric Mobility in Poland," Klarecka noted. (PAP)
