Poland to spend EUR 1 bln on development of AI technologies in 2025
The Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs has announced plans to allocate more than one billion euros to the development of artificial intelligence technologies in 2025.
The ministry's Artificial Intelligence Fund will spend over PLN 4.5 billion (EUR 1 bln) on the development of digital technologies in Poland. The financing will come from the Polish National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR).
"This is a huge amount of money that has already been put to work," Krzysztof Gawkowski said during a press conference held on Monday.
Starting January 10, applications will be accepted for the inaugural programme aimed at large enterprises that plan to undertake extensive research, development, and innovation initiatives. This programme is financed by the European Funds for Smart Economy for the period 2021-2027.
Overall, similar projects will receive funding of PLN 1.3 billion (EUR 300 mln). (PAP)
