Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said on Wednesday in Sejm, the lower house of the Polish parliament, that since December 13, 2023 the country had made 40 deals to buy arms that total around PLN 50 billion (EUR 11.73 bln).

According to him, 23 of those were long-term deals with Polish-based manufacturers.

He added that before the end of the year, the Polish armaments agency was planning to sign roughly 150 more contracts with domestic and foreign arms manufacturers.

He said that the goal of the government was to purchase half of Poland's military equipment locally. Currently, that level is at 40 percent. (PAP)
