The Operational Command of the Polish armed forces reported on the X platform that early on Sunday morning a Russian missile entered Polish space near the town of Oserdow in southeastern Poland and moved through Polish territory for 39 seconds before returning to Ukraine.

Andrzej Szejna, a deputy foreign minister, told Polsat News broadcaster later on Sunday that this was not the first time that the Polish airspace was breached by a Russian missile.

"This was actually the third time, as far as we know," he said.

"Therefore, the ambassador of the Russian Federation will be summoned by (the Foreign - PAP) Minister Radoslaw Sikorski to provide information and explanations," Szejna said.

"Either today or tomorrow, the summons will be issued, in accordance with diplomatic protocol," he added.

Szejna also said that any further actions by Poland "are dependent on these explanations and information." (PAP)
