"Reports from The Foreign Ministry state that Poland was an exporter of military equipment to Israel in previous years," Maciej Konieczny MP from the Left has told PAP.

"The new government has not signed any contracts with Israel," Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Szejna said.

Szejna clarified that sales were made by the previous government, but currently the ministry is not planning on continuing such procedures.

"We will not have a hand in Israeli attacks on civilians in Gaza Strip using Polish weapons," Szejna said.

At the beginning of May, MPs from The Razem Party, left-wing parliamentary group, submitted a Parliamentary question to Prime Minister Donald Tusk, minister of foreign affairs Radoslaw Sikorski and minister of development and technology Krzysztof Paszyk concerning Polish exports of weapons to Israel.

Up until now, the politicians that had submitted the question had not received any official response, but it was noted that the recipients have 21 days to provide a written answer from the date of submission.

Konieczny, who largely wrote the document, told PAP that the party prepared very direct and precise questions." We need to know if Poland still exports products to Israel that can be used in war crimes," the MP said. (PAP)
