Poland's Swiatek advances to Wimbledon finals

Iga Swiatek, the 8th-ranked female tennis player, beat Switzerland's Belinda Bencic 6-2, 6-0 on Thursday, advancing to the Wimbledon final for the first time in her career.

Swiatek, a claycourt specialist, managed to show her skill at Wimbledon's grasscourt in a quick semi-finals match against Bencic.

In the final on Saturday, she will face American Amanda Anisimova, who beat world number one Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus in her semi-final match. (PAP) jd/mf
