Poland's unemployment rate grows in September — stats office

Poland's unemployment rate stood at 5.6 percent in September, up from 5.5 percent in August, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported on Thursday.

The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy previously estimated that the jobless rate in September would stand at 5.6 percent.

The number of registered unemployed reached 866,100 in September, compared to 856,300 in August, GUS also said.

The number of newly registered out-of-work individuals rose to 121,400 in September, up from 96,800 in August. (PAP)
