Pole elected COS of NATO's Information Agency
Krzysztof Kociuba has been elected chief of staff of the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) as the first Pole in the history.
The General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces reported on Friday that Kociuba was chosen in a secret ballot by representatives of 32 member states. He competed with generals from the Netherlands, France and Italy.
Kociuba's three-year term will begin in March 2025. He will be the first Polish general to hold the post.
The Pole has served in a variety of posts related to communications and information technology. Since 2021, he has been deputy NATO chief information officer in Brussels.
As COS NCIA, he will be responsible for overseeing the agency operations to ensure secure and effective communications and IT systems and services for NATO and its member states. (PAP)
