In Pew's international survey published on Wednesday, Poland was among the countries where sentiment towards America experienced the most significant decline. The number of respondents expressing a positive view of the US declined by 22 percentage points to 55 percent, in comparison to 2024.

The sentiment deteriorated more deeply only in Mexico, which saw a drop of 33 percentage points, and in Sweden, where it decreased by 28 percentage points.

Sixty percent of Poles did not trust Trump's foreign policy, with only 35 percent expressing confidence in it, the research showed. The scepticism in the US president's policy moves is prevalent in most European countries, with distrust levels ranging from 46 to 85 percent.

Trump enjoys favourable opinions in Israel (69 pct), India (52 pct), Nigeria (79 pct) and Kenya (64 pct), with distrust prevailing in 19 other surveyed countries.

In Poland, trust in Trump overlaps with the political sympathies of respondents, as 62 percent of supporters of the main opposition party, the socially-conservative Law and Justice express confidence in the US head of state. Similar trends are observed among right-wing voters in other nations. (PAP)
