Polish plant in Ukraine hit by Russian drones, says FM
A Polish plant located in central Ukraine and operated by a Polish wooden floors manufacturer was hit in an overnight Russian drone attack, Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has reported.
Sikorski wrote on the X platform on Wednesday that in the attack on Grupa Barlinek's facility in Vinnytsia, a number of people were injured, including two who sustained severe burns.
"Putin's criminal war is coming near our borders," he wrote.
In all, seven people were injured in the attack on Vinnytsia's industrial facilities, the regional military authority reported.
Also on Wednesday, Pawel Wronski, the ministry's spokesperson, said that the Polish plant was hit by five out of 28 drones that reportedly targeted Vinnytsia.
"Everything points to the plant being a set target, that the attack was not accidental," he said, adding that none of the victims were Polish nationals.
Asked whether Poland would take any diplomatic action following the attack, Wronski said that the ultimate decision belonged to Sikorski.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia attacked Ukraine with 400 drones and one missile on the night of Tuesday and Wednesday, hitting 12 locations.
The central cities of Kryvyi Rih and Vinnytsia were the main targets, as well as Kharkiv in north-eastern Ukraine. (PAP) wpb/jch
