Russian helicopter violated Polish airspace, says army

A Russian military helicopter breached Polish airspace over the Baltic Sea, testing the readiness of Poland's defence systems, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces (DORSZ) has reported.

On Saturday, DORSZ wrote on the X platform that a Russian aircraft was detected by the radar systems of the Polish Armed Forces and Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PAZP) as it entered the country's airspace over territorial waters on Friday evening.

DORSZ said that Poland's air defence system remained in constant readiness to ensure security of its airspace, adding that the nature of the incident indicated that Russia was testing the system's capabilities. (PAP)
