Turnout in Poland's European election at 28.20 pct by 5pm
The turnout in Sunday's elections to the European Parliament in Poland stood at 28,20 percent by 5pm, the National Electoral Commission (PKW) announced during a press conference at 6:30 pm.
European elections started in Poland at 7am and polling stations will close at 9pm.
The number of Poles eligible to vote on Sunday amounts to 28,728,512 people.
Sylwester Marciniak, the PKW head, reported that 8,101,018 ballots had already been issued, representing 28,20 percent of the eligible voters.
The PKW will hold one more press conference at 10pm, after the closure of polling stations. Poles will choose 53 European Parliament deputies. (PAP)
