During the night from Thursday to Friday, Russia conducted the largest air assault on Ukraine since the beginning of the war. According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 550 drones and missiles; the air defense managed to shoot down 478 of them.

"The Polish MFA has handed a note to the Russian embassy protesting against the airstrikes on the population of Ukraine. As a result, the building of the Polish embassy was damaged," wrote the MFA in a post on the X platform on Friday afternoon. It added: "The Ministry emphasised that it is a violation of international law, in particular the 1961 Vienna Convention."

In Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, where the alarm due to the Russian attack lasted nearly 13 hours, one person was killed, and 26 others were injured, including a child.

As a result of the attack, the building of the Consular Department of the Polish Embassy in Kyiv was also damaged, likely due to debris from a Russian drone. No staff workers were injured, the embassy reported following the strike. (PAP)
