This payment brings the funds paid out to Poland under the EU's Recovery and Resilience Facility, designed to mitigate the economic and social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, to EUR 26.9 billion, according to the EC's earlier statement.

Poland submitted the payment request to the EC in December 2024.

Under the KPO, Poland is set to receive a total of EUR 59.8 billion, including EUR 25.3 billion in grants and EUR 34.5 billion in preferential loans. The funds are to be spent on areas prioritised by the EU, including climate goals (46.6 percent), digital transition (21.3 percent) and social reforms (22.3 percent). (PAP)
