On Friday, the Regional Court in Warsaw found Dorian S. (surname withheld under Polish law) guilty of sexual homicide and robbery. The verdict is subject to appeal.

In the early morning of February 25, the 23-year-old man assaulted, robbed and raped a 25-year-old Belarusian woman, known as Elizaveta, as she was heading home in central Warsaw. Elizaveta was later found naked and unconscious by a door to the property on Zurawia Street by a caretaker, who called the police and an ambulance.

The woman was brought to hospital in critical condition. She died without regaining consciousness on March 1. (PAP)
