"This is a preliminary outcome of the Ukraine Recovery Confernce held in Gdansk," Deputy State Assets Minister Eliza Zeidler said on Friday, adding that 19 state delegations were headed by prime ministers, presidents or ministers.

Zeidler said that "behind all these figures, there are initiatives, discussions, and plans regarding what the reconstruction of Ukraine should look like."

She added that a more detailed assessment of the two-day conference would be prepared later, as some discussions were still ongoing. She also expressed confidence that participants would leave Gdansk convinced that cooperation on Ukraine's reconstruction had moved beyond declarations to practical action.

Pawel Kowal, the Polish government commissioner for Ukraine's reconstruction, described URC26 as an "exceptional" event and said it was probably the largest political and business gathering in Europe this year.

Poland hosted the Ukraine Recovery Conference for the first time. The Gdansk meeting was the fifth edition of the conference held since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

This year's programme was focused on five thematic pillars: business, security and defence, European Union integration, regional development and human capital.

The Polish Press Agency is a media patron of the conference. (PAP)
