"Ukrainian businesses need secure locations that, on the one hand, provide favourable conditions for development and facilitate access to the EU single market, and, on the other, are located relatively close to Ukraine, making it easier to manage the logistics of products, services and solutions essential for day-to-day operations," Ryczek said during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in the coastal city of Gdansk.

According to Ryczek, this is precisely the role of industrial parks, special economic zones and other business-friendly investment locations.

Asked what role Polish special economic zones and industrial parks could play in Ukraine's reconstruction, Ryczek said that they should serve as a bridge between Western Europe and Ukraine.

Praising the advantages of the EU single market, Ryczek said that entrepreneurs would continue to be attracted by the opportunity to establish businesses within the EU, benefiting from its stable legal framework and strong institutional safeguards.

"These advantages will not disappear [after the war in Ukraine ends], they will become even more important," he noted, adding that Ukrainian businessmen would remain eager to take advantage of all these achievements and best practices.

Ryczek also said that, since the outbreak of the war, Ukrainian nationals had established around 30,000 companies in Poland. (PAP)
