Polish-based PolskiBus to team up with FlixBus
The Polish-based coach company PolskiBus has started strategic cooperation with its European peer, FlixBus, which will entail a new connection network for the carriers, FlixBus Polish CEO Michal Leman said on Monday.
"We have started strategic cooperation of the two companies. It's not an acquisition. The brand is changing," Leman told a press conference.
PolskiBus coaches will acquire FlixBus' livery, replacing their red colour theme with a green one.
The co-operation will offer Polish passengers access to FlixBus' European connection network.
FlixBus coaches, on the European market since 2013, make 200,000 journeys between European cities in 26 countries every day. In 2016, the company carried 30 million passengers. It employs 6,000 drivers in 250 partner companies.
PolskiBus.com is owned by Souter Holdings Poland. Over its six years of operation, the company has carried 25 million passengers. It has two operating bases, in Warsaw and the south-western city of Wroclaw.
FlixBus is looking for even more partners in Poland, Leman added. (PAP)
