Poland's Guzik places third in 7.5 km sprint in Presque Isle

Poland's Krystyna Guzik placed third in the 7.5 kilometre women's sprint of the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon in Presque Isle, the U.S., on Thursday.

Gabriela Soukalova of the Czech Republic, the current overall women's leader, on Thursday won for the 11th time in her career. Susan Dunklee of the U.S. placed second, ahead of Guzik who recorded a 19.1-second loss to the winner.

The World Cup competition in Presque Isle is the final tune-up before the IBU World Championships in Oslo-Holmenkollen on March 3-13. (PAP)
