Geldof, Glover special guests at Soundedit Festival

Former Boomtown Rats star Bob Geldof and Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover will be special guests at this year's 7th Soundedit music producers' festival starting October 22 in Lodz, central Poland.

Geldof and Glover will receive Man With the Golden Ear awards alongside domestic stars Jozef Skrzek, Wojciech Waglewski and Leszek Biolik.

The festival, which combines live concerts with music workshops, will feature performances by Geldof, Waglewski, Maria Peszek, Leszek Mozdzer, Fisz, Emade and Voo Voo. An earlier electronica bloc will include Skrzek, Wladyslaw Komendarek, Kapitan Nemo, Konrad Kucz and British New Romantic stars OMD.

The Soundedit event was launched in Lodz in 2009. Earlier editions featured among others Tanita Tikaram, U2 producer Daniel Lanois, Depeche Mode sound engineer Gareth Jones and the band's former member Alan Wilder, Joy Division bassist Peter Hook and Pink Floyd producer Andy Jackson. (PAP)
