The 92nd Academy Awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on February 9, 2020. The 'Best Foreign-Language Film' category will undergo a name change ahead of the 2020 ceremony, becoming the 'Best International Feature Film.'

Komasa's film, inspired by real-life events, is the story of a twenty-year-old who, after leaving a juvenile detention centre, pretends to be a priest.

Earlier this year, Polish actor Bartosz Bielenia, who stars in the film, received the Aluminium Horse Award for Best Actor at the 2019 Stockholm International Film Festival. Bielenia was also awarded the title Shooting Star 2020.

Corpus Christi premiered at the 2019 Venice Film Festival Venice Days section where the film won the Europa Cinemas Label Award and the Edipo Re Inclusion Award. The film also received nine awards, including best director and best script, at the 44th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. (PAP)
