In the early hours of Saturday, Mercedes Sprinter minibus with a Polish registration plate crashed into a truck. After its driver had lost control of the vehicle, the minibus hit a crash barrier and overturned, according to local media.

Nine minibus passengers have been injured, including three in serious condition.

The A4 motorway, which had been closed in the direction of Dresden due to a rescue operation, reopened after two hours.

The minibus has been completely destroyed, local police reported, adding that the possibility of the minibus driver drifting into a 'micro-sleep' and losing control of the vehicle was one of the potential causes of the crash which were being investigated. (PAP)
