Poland offers specialised medical care to victims of Swiss ski resort fire

Prime Minister Donald Tusk has expressed his deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the tragic fire in the Swiss resort town of Crans-Montana and affirmed Poland's readiness to provide specialised medical care to the injured.

According to local authorities, around 40 people are believed dead and at least 115 others injured in a blaze that broke out during a New Year's Eve party at a bar in the popular ski resort. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though officials have ruled out terrorism.

US State Dept greenlights military training deal with Poland

In a message posted on X on Friday, Tusk wrote that "Switzerland and the canton of Valais can count on Polish solidarity."

"We are ready, at the request of Switzerland, to provide specialised medical care for 14 injured people in Polish hospitals," he declared. (PAP)
