Poland backs Ukraine's EU and NATO membership, Zelensky tells PAP

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has told PAP, Polish Television and Polish Radio that he believes that Poland has always supported Ukraine on its path to the EU and NATO.

However, he admitted that much had changed and that now Ukraine's path to NATO was more complicated because of the US position since "we do not see support from the US and this is undoubtedly a challenge."

Referring to Ukraine's EU bid, Zelensky said that Poland had always been one of his country's closest friends and supporters of its EU membership.

Polish FM rules out Russia-NATO war, US troop withdrawal from Europe

"Even the US thinks that Ukraine's EU membership would be part of security guarantees, especially economic ones," the Ukrainian president continued.

Zelensky said that this was one of the subjects he had discussed with President Karol Nawrocki. "And I told him that we count on Poland's and his support of Ukraine as a future EU member." (PAP)
