Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced Thursday that he would initiate a referendum in Hungary regarding Ukraine’s EU accession. Meanwhile, on Friday, the leader of the opposition TISZA party, Peter Magyar, said Kyiv has no chance of joining the bloc within the next several decades.

Sikorski denounced the move to the X platform on Saturday.

"Hungary intends to hold a referendum on Ukraine’s future membership in the European Union. And I would be curious about the results of a referendum in the EU on the membership of Orban’s Hungary," the minister wrote.(PAP)
