Polish PM to present reshuffled government on Wednesday
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will present the new lineup of his government at 10am on Wednesday, the government spokesman has said.
"The prime minister will announce the lineup of the new Council of Ministers on Wednesday, at 10am," Szlapka wrote on X.
Earlier on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Digitisation Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski told the private Radio Zet that the government reshuffle would take place "on Wednesday and Thursday."
"First, it needs to be announced, and second, [it needs to be] carried out in line with the Constitution, with the appointment of the ministers by the president," Gawkowski said.
It will be the first cabinet reshuffle in the Tusk government since its appointment in December 2023. The ruling coalition now comprises four separate parties, The Left, Tusk's centrist Civic Coalition, the centre-right Poland 2050 and the agrarian Polish People's Party.
It took the ruling coalition two months since plans of changes to the government lineup were first announced, likely due to friction between the parties and their ministerial ambitions. (PAP)
