The European Council, comprising leaders of the 27 EU member states, is to convene in the wake of last week's drone incursions into Denmark that forced the temporary closure of some airports and similar incidents in several EU countries in recent weeks.

The primary agenda of the discussions will center on accelerating efforts to enhance the EU's defense capabilities and meet its 2030 objectives, in addition to ensuring continuous support for Ukraine.

On Thursday, Tusk will take part in a meeting of the European Political Community, an organisation established in 2022 that aims to strengthen ties between EU member states and non-member states. The leaders of 47 nations will deliberate on three key topics: support for Ukraine, the security situation in Europe and bolstering the continent's resilience in light of current geopolitical challenges.
