Chopin 2025: Public bus promoting Chopin Competition travels in Warsaw
A municipal company bus decorated with Chopin-themed designs hit the streets of Warsaw to promote the Chopin Competition taking place in the city, joining similarly marked trams and metro trains.
Passengers of the Chopin bus running on route 176 from Fryderyk Chopin Airport to Pilsudskiego Square can enjoy Fryderyk Chopin's music during their journey.
The bus carries the slogan "In Warsaw, everything plays Chopin” which appears on all vehicles painted in pink and purple which are part of the promotional scheme. Their floors feature piano keys, which along with musical notes and the capital's coat of arms, also appear on the exterior decor.
A special tram also runs through the Polish capital from the Wola depot, featuring young pianists playing works by the Polish composer. Due to high demand, its service has been extended until Sunday.
Twenty pianists from eight countries are competing in the third stage of the Chopin Competition. Auditions continue until Thursday, and the names of the musicians qualified for the finals will be announced on that evening.
The 19th edition of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition runs from October 2nd to 23rd. It is organised by Poland's Fryderyk Chopin Institute.
