Government passes "Family 500 plus" programme

The government passed on Monday a "Family 500 plus" draft envisaging PLN 500 for each second and following child in a family, PM Beata Szydlo announced.

The PLN 500 plus programme envisages PLN 500 for every second and consecutive children regardless of household income as well as for the first child in households with incomes not exceeding PLN 800 per capita monthly or PLN 1,200 if the child is disabled.

The government wants the draft to come into effect on April 1.

The PM declared that she would hand over the bill to the Sejm (lower house) speaker still on Monday. (PAP)
