Over half of Poles believe Tusk should be replaced, survey shows
A new poll for Poland's Super Express (SE) daily has revealed that the majority of Poles believe Prime Minister Donald Tusk should step down, amid growing public concerns about his government’s performance.
According to the survey, published on Thursday, Poles were asked whether they believe Tusk should step down. The results revealed that 52 percent of respondents favoured the idea, 34 percent opposed and 14 percent were undecided.
"The ruling coalition has more and more reasons to worry," the daily wrote in a comment, referring to Tusk's centre-right Civic Coalition (KO). "Although polls remain favourable for the Civic Coalition, its governing partners — Polska 2050 and PSL — do not have enough support to win seats in the Sejm (the lower house of parliament - PAP), "the SE added.
The poll came on the heels of the KO-led government marking its second anniversary in power, following its narrow victory over the socially conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party, which ended its eight-year rule in 2023.
The poll was conducted by the Pollster Research Institute on October 11 and October 12 on a representative sample of 1,002 adult Poles. (PAP)yb/jch
