Polish farmers whose businesses suffered from coronavirus pandemic will get over PLN 1 billion (EUR 223 million) from the government, Agriculture Minister Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski said on Wednesday.

The funds will come from the Rural Development Programme and help farm  groups in the agricultural industries mostly impacted by the crisis, which according to Ardanowski include livestock breeding, meat and milk production for export, and the cultivation of ornamental plants.

The aid has already been approved by the European Commission, he added. (PAP)
