Poland EU's biggest apple and sour cherry producer

Poland is the biggest producer of apples and sour cherries in the European Union, a Eurostat analysis shows.

Poland accounted for 25 percent of all apples harvested in the EU in 2015, ahead of Italy (19.2 percent) and France (15.5 percent), according to Eurostat.

As regards sour cherries, Poland has a 25.8-percent share in the EU market.

Poland was also the second-biggest producer of strawberries in the EU in 2015, behind Spain, Eurostat data show. (PAP)
