Poland is Europe's third-largest ceramic tile producer

Poland is the third-largest producer of ceramic tiles in the EU, after Italy and Spain. The annual value of ceramic tile production in Poland exceeds EUR 0.5 billion; some 40 percent of the output is exported.

The Paradyz Group is among the leading Polish ceramic tile manufacturers, with employment in its five plants in central Poland at 1,700. Paradyz Ceramics exports its products to 40 countries, including Russia, Slovakia, France, the Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Canada and New Zealand. The Opoczno ceramic plant is another large tile producer on the Polish market.

Poland places fifth on the list of EU ceramic tile exporters, and ranks tenth in the world. In 2014, Poland exported 40 percent of its annual tile production. The value of its 2014 exports amounted to EUR 225 million.

Germany placed first among Polish ceramic tile importers. It was followed by Ukraine, Russia and Slovakia. (PAP)
